I just got this Hesston 1090 mower conditioner. I really had to find something to mow with as the self propelled Hesston I have needs a drive shaft replaced, which is gonna take some work, and the sickle bar just ain't getting it. I've been looking for a couple of weeks, but there were'nt many for sale around me, especially in my price range. This one was about a hundred miles from me, so I pulled it home on some back roads and two lane highways. The hubs were not even warm when I got it home. I had to get a hydraulic hose and a set of couplers so I could just use the cylinder off the three point hitch. I put a heavy duty ratcheting top link in it's place since I use a drawbar on the three point hitch because the original won't fit with this one. I borrowed a pto shaft from a sickle bar since it take a longer shaft with the drawbar setup I have. I mowed some really heavy grass/clover/alfalfa hay in third and it mowed great. It really worked the M. I might have been able to do forth, but there's a couple of decent hills and there's no point in overdoing it. I might have to add another set of weights on the front though, that mower is pretty dang heavy. It sure runs circles around a sickle bar mower!

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
