Old Puller, Howard, you make very good points. There are many people in this world who will work their butts off to improve their (and their children's) lot in life. That is the way it was for our forefathers who built this country. The last 50 years have been the best overall in the USA. I think, as a society, we have just gotten soft, expect a lot to be handed to us on a silver platter and complain about those in the world who are trying to raise their standard of living through hard work.

Guess what? I'm just as happy as I've ever been. I've got 3 good kids who are succesful in their education and careers (so far) and (most importantly) we're all in pretty good health. Things could be much worse and whatever happens with the economy, we'll just deal with how it affects us personally the best we can.
