Forget the hourly wage and give him a finished price. If you both agree on it then it don't matter if you are slow or not as long as you know what you are doing. Keep track of your hours for your own reference and then when you are done you will know exactly how much per hr you got and whether you got screwed or he did. At least you will know what to charge for the next one! And you probably won't get a next one because they won't pay enough for you to make anything off it.The chance of both parties being completely happy in the end is next to ZERO.
