: Hi Roy: : I have an older model JD 450 and the only special tools I have needed so far was a guage to set the fingers on the clutch which I was able to make a cardboard copy of from my dealer. This tool is needed for both the steering clutches and the main engine clutch. I have torn my dozer down both sides in the rear and the enginehad to be reworked but the great thing about the 450 dozer is the ease of repair and availability of parts. the only problem with them is that everything is so heavy and expect a lot of rust. If you do get it running you might also want to keep a close eye on the hydralic hoses because they sure make a big mess when they go, other than that it doesnt take much to tear them down and fix them up. : Bob : : I have inherited this dozer. Runs good, repairs are needed . Obviously, a manul is the first thing I need. Can anyone tell me if special tools are required to work on undercarriage? Rear axle bearing is shot . Clutch seems to be stuck on , as if pedal was depressed. Tractor won't move at all, any direction......i need help and please send money!!!! thanks.....Roy Sanders
