A whole roof full of solar panels on a minivan will yield you a max of around 400 watts - or 30 amps @ 12 volts in the brightest sunshine. You could barely run your cigarette lighter on that. Now, if you parked it most of the time and then only used it for short runs - you'd have something - but the battery bank would be pretty heavy.
