I know what you mean. Back in the 1950's Dad took on more acres as well as we had to take over my Grandfathers two farms because of his heart attact. My dad and brother did all the plowing and planting and I took my Grandfathers M without power steering and fit the ground to stay a head of the planter and drill. This started early spring and ended around the first of June. Before all the crops were planted I would head to one side of the field with the idea that I would not turn but ram that hard riding M into a tree, turn chicken and head for a tree on the other end. Great power but not the easy ride and steering of our Olivers. Only advise I remember about it was watch the thumbs disking the first time over on plowed ground. When caught they hurt the next day as well. Sometimes longer.
