I live two miles out on gravel also with a 84 Harley Softail . The motor is built for drag racing so riding to and from the blacktop is interesting . Just have to let the hips loose to follow the bike and try to not control it so much . But there is a BIG difference in a Vulcan's weight and my Softails weight I suspect . My bikes been stripped down to hardly more than a seat with a motor under it . I find the faster I go the more stable it feels - to a point - about 35 to 40 feels good in the real heavy loose gravel . Like riding a dirt bike in the mud . I haven't gotten it out of the barn yet this year , I might do that this weekend if the rain ever stops . ...Randy
