Paul,
I thought about which to buy for a long time. Then out of nowhere my wife's aunt decided to sell her Cub Cadet, after her husband pasted away. It has a 12.5 H.P. Kohler.
I have owned 3 other riders and none even come close to my Cub.
I got it for $600. It has been the best mower I have ever owned.
My brother has bought 2 murrys both with 12.5 H.P.brigs engines. Neither has lasted 2 years.(He is rough on any equipment.)
I have had my Cub 4 years and have never done anything other than change oil & spark plug.
I mow about 5 acres of christmas tree farm and 1.5 acres of yard.
