I have had Campaq, Dell, Gateway and Hp computers in the past and now have an E Machine. It may be low grade crap but it's been the best computer of all of them. Not one problem. Can't say that about the rest. Also, why pay big bucks for a computer which will be obsolete in a few months and if it does take a crap I'm not out much. I agree, extended warranties are a rip off.
