Re: Massey Harris 44 With 6 Cylinder. Brian at one time many years ago about twenty one as a matter of fact we my father and I spent a great deal of time and money on a Continental six cylinder engine. This included boring balancing ect. The engine ran fine, smooth and had ample power. The acid test a three bottom plow third or fourth gear.Much to my disappointment it failed. The problem it seems the boring process sixty thousandths weakens the block a crack develops between valve seats. Exhaust gas then enters the coolant system and the engine overheats quickly. The cost of properly fixing the block at the time seemed to be cost prohibitive and may still be the same today.Whatever You Do I Hope Your Sassey Massey as we called it stays in tact and lives on.
