It is common for MM pulling tractors to have 5 1/2" bore. To get that big, you have to bore out the blocks and put in sleeves. Because the blocks are not made to bore that big, it is hard to keep them from leaking water. It is also common to stroke the crank to 6 1/2". The biggest "stock looking" MM 4 cylinder that I know of is 5 5/8 bore X 8" stroke. It is a waste of money to go that big because of the lack of air flow thru the heads. Matt

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
