"M" is a much more "collectable" tractor than the 450, and always will be, due to the zillions of them that so many guys used back on the farm, as kids. As with most collectibles, the more "options" it has, the rarer and the more desirable it is. SMDTA is at the top of the heap among the M's. Doesn't matter in the slightest that the 450D is nearly the same, and just as useful- collectors want what they want. Same reasoning behind the fact that '50 Mercuries are worth considerably more than '50 Fords, and both are worth MUCH more than the nicest of the stable that year, the '50 Lincoln.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
