The 60 series John Deere tractor has a non adjustable main bearing. Does your tractor make a thumping sound under load? Worn main bearings can cause this sound. Can you detect an up and down movement of the flywheel/crankshaft. Too much end play on the Waterloo engines will cause it not to drive the slinger and also if it has the driving tab on the flywheel that engages the slinger missing it will not turn the slinger and sling the oil back to the crankcase. Over filling with crankcase oil will cause oils slinging. Some farmers have drained the transmission plug which is close to the engine oil drain plug and then added more engine oil and increased the level too high.
