I just upgraded to a Winegard hd-9095p antenna. it's a deep fringe antenna rated for 75 mile range, most sites say. Below it I have a short piece of coax (it'll be RG6 asap, right now its rg59) feeding a 75-300ohm transformer going into the rooftop amplifier. The transformer is because my amp has a 300 Ohm input inly and because they tell me the transformer helps squelch some fm noise. in the house is the power supply for the amp and that goes right into the converter box. this is a highly directional uhf-only antenna so the mast is on a rotor, so i can turn the house around for a better signal.
It's approaching the best setup i know of for my deep-fringe area yet, so far. I'll let you know what i think.
