If your vehicle is new enough to have electronic fuel injection you don't gain anything by putting it in neutral and coasting. The computer automatically shuts the fuel off and gives the engine only enough to keep running. In fact, coasting in neutral will actually set a trouble code and turn on the "check engine" light.
