Yeah, that's pretty much how I run it now. The only problem is that there is an electrical safety that won't let me start the engine unless in neutral range. This same safety mechanism also blasts an alarm when setting the parking brake if not in the neutral range. The hard part is forcing myself to ignore this alarm when hopping of the tractor for a second.
It doesn't seem to matter how long I hold the clutch in, before leaving neutral range, it always seems to grind at least a little.
