Those little bales of hay are 9 to 15 years old.
Around here guys stock pile hay.
No one wants to run out.
If you have your own cattle and you have a bad hay year what do you do? I suppose you could buy but if you have no hay, neither do the guys close by. Trucking in hay is costly, you might as well sell the cows as to truck in hay. Just my thoughts anyway.
I still have 48 cows. Will go to 30 this winter.
If I didn't bale for 3 years I would have enough to feed them thru the winters.
Big round bale barn is full also.
Oh by the way if you want that barn full of hay for $15,000 you can have it. And I'll sell all the cows when the big bales are gone. $4.00 small squares and $1.10 calves do not make money.
