I've a 48" snapper yard cruiser (4th season with it). Bought it mainly for the joystick control..love that aspect.
The problem is the cut it gives, really a ragged lookin sucker. The 36 " dixon I had did a much better job and of course when I went to buy the snapper the dealer told me it would do everything the dixon did. This turned out to be a buncha bull. Could run the dixon in water, just about anycondition, wet tall grass etc...always cut really smooth.
The snapper leaves a ragged swath just about where the right wheel runs. My neighbor has an industrial diesel (snapper) 72" and has the same problem, she added a .062" washer between the spindle and the collar, which offset that blade down. I tried that and it helped some. Think the main difference is how the grass cleans out. The dixon has a stamped deck, the snapper is a steel top plate welded to the verticle contoured edge plate, grass gets packed in the corners real easy.
Anyone found a reliable rule for good mower decks and clean cuts. Been looking at the country clipper. It has a stamped deck and the joystick.
