My grandfather had a AC 6080 with cab, loader, and front wheel assist. I have to admit I hated the thing. For one it was huge, the clutch was hard on your leg muscles when using the bucket to load poop, and the levers for the bucket were a pain always getting stuck in one position or another. As long as the snow did not get over a foot in one wack I get by pretty good with D-15 actually prefered it to do chores and whatever else I could.
I have been looking into Massey fergusons. The first one I ever seen was reburbsihed and sold for $5400 on an auction. It was I think about 35-40 HP I do not remember which one. Those tractors look like they could hit a tree and not have but a scratch. I have lots of trees on my farm. LOL
Anyways, I will keep all of your suggestions in mind as I am looking. My nieghbor has a JD 2020 I have drove and I liked it pretty well.I guess I should look for something that is for the better part economical on gas or diesel. I do not need bells and whistles and can live without a cab I just bundle up really good and make sure I feed cattle on warmer days that are not 20-50 below. :)
Another thing I should look into is round balers. My grandfather had a New Holland 849 that I have used. I did alright with it and had to get use to how it rolled up bales. It did not like fluffy light hay and the bales were kind of puffy as I would call them. Any suggestions there on what has worked for anyone would be appreciated.Thanks again.
