In June of '93 I bought a new 1993 Chevy 1-ton dually 4x4 (5 spd OD std tran) with the 6.5 turbo diesel in it...My "Six-Wheel-Drive". The 6.5 turbo is totally redesigned from the 6.2. This engine is quiet and gits excellent fuel mileage and I swear could have pulled a house had I found a way to hook up to it. In fact it did, I pulled a 12 x 60 mobile home 16 miles cross country with it! Dodge uses Cummins which is a good engine, but VERY noisy. Ford uses International powerstroke, another good engine, but known for lousy fuel mileage. The only reason I do not still have my ROCK is due to a financial bind I got myself into and had to trade down in March of '95. The contractor that bought it from me still has it and won't sell it back to me! :-( He says that truck wouldn't know how to act if it wasn't pulling something...he loves it. (Snif!)
