Back in my college days, over in Terre Haute, IN [that's French for "terrible hole," and if you ever smelled the odor of the Commercial Solvents plant that blew through town, you'd agree], a couple of college friends and I made the rounds of the bars and package liquor stores in the region, including Marshall [Circle Bar...was that it?] and Paris, IL [Don and Katy's Steak House, maybe??]. We tried a lot of product, and were particularly fond of Miller Malt Liquor--in the red can--but we must've been the exception, as it didn't seem to last long on the market. But it was worlds better than Schlitz Malt liquor...and the ONLY beer in green bottles I ever liked was Schoenling Little Kings, out of Cincinnati.
About the worst we ever had was called Goebel's...had an aftertaste that approached what I figure could've only been achieved by drowning a family of skunks in the vat.
