If it's brass and won't come out with a straight fluted easy out then try cutting it before going after it with a chisel. They make small hacksaw blades but you can also get the ones designed for the air "body saws" that have a low height on the end and simply clamp them with a pair of vice-grips. Cut through it in a couple of places til you can see the tops of the threads and then simply knock the pieces out with a chisel.
