Well, as an Indiana resident whom attended several meetings before the lease, speaking to our governor prior to the signing of the lease...We got $4 Billion up front for a 75 year lease that's projected to net the consortium $140 Billion throughout the duration of the lease. Now, let's look at where that nearly $4 Billion went or is going to...that's pretty much gone already. Our state just began construction on our portion of the MexiCan Highway that is supposed to connect Mexico and Canada so we can become "the North American Union" to compete with the European Union, instead of remaining Canada, Mexico, and these United States of America. That new highway, I-69 is expected to cost $1.5 Billion to build from Indy down to Evansville, of which $750 Million (half) is coming straight out of the initial nearly $4 Billion, the rest of it to come from bonds, taxes, and ??? to complete the new I-69, which has been suggested by our governor will also be leased to that same consortium as soon as its complete as a toll road, except around the Indy area where the politicians run business...no tolls for them. Now, a large portion of the initial $4 Billion was distributed to municipalities throughout the state for improvements, for which most of them spent it like it burned holes in their pockets. Now, the lions share of what was left, that was supposed to be invested to draw interest and grow, has been sent back to property owners in the form of tax relief after a new tax structure went into place statewide that raised my property property value on paper down at the assessor's office by 40% at the same time the state of Indiana ranked in the top 2 states nationwide in home forclosures, driving property values dowwwwwwn. All in all, as a resident of Indiana, I'd say that getting nearly $4 Billion up front to make that consortium $140 over the duration, and then having to pay to build another interstate to do the same thing...is and was a great deal, and I can't wait to get into line to do it again. At the time that the lease was signed, 90% to 95% of the residents of the 7 most northern counties that I80/I90 runs through were against the deal as admitted by the same politicians that voted for it, before they voted for it, and statewide it was 65% against. I am looking at it objectively. To me, it seems kind of wrong to have Indiana State Troopers patrol that toll road at tax payer expense, because after all, it does now belong to a private consortium much in the same way that Kmart belongs to Kmart, Walmart belongs to Walmart, the car wash belongs to the guy whom owns the car wash, and none of them get the use of Indiana State Troopers to provide safety and security for them, without getting on the phone and calling them when needed, as needed. The same with out tax payer financed toll road maintenance guys and equipment...none of the grocery stores or anyone else gets repaired or plowed by them as this privately owned consortium does...so why should they?
As an Indiana resident whom took that toll road at least twice per week, I quit and found an alternative the day they signed that lease. As far as I'm concerned, they can turn it into a drag strip from Illinois to Ohio. I'll never use it again.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal. As a resul
