Well Dolly is doing her thing down here in the Rio Grande Valley. I got the windows boarded up in time and sure am glad I did. Lots of stuff blowing around. I have two large trees down behind the house but it doesn't appear they hit anything. Can't see much else without going outside and that's not going to happen for several more hours at least. The eye of the storm has moved a bit north of us, but is struggling to cross over onto land where it will begin to break up. Winds sustained at 100 mph and gusts at 121 mph. Several small fast moving tornados made their way through, closest one to us about 4 miles. The most amaizing part, we have yet to loose power or phone lines although that is not the case just a few miles from us. FYI, our place is about 20 miles inland (west) of South Padre Island. Keep us South Texas folks in your prayers. The picture is from noon taken from the NOAA web page. Looking just south of the eye of the hurricane you can see where the white line dips down, that is Brownsville. The skinny looking area to the right of that going north is South Padre Island.
