Well, anybody can get turned off of anything. Take for example: A friend of mine had a 94 Chevy 6.5 turbo. Blew the crank at 8000 miles, pulling a 4 horse trailer. This truck was less than 1-year old at the time, and had been serviced by the dealer. GM replaced the engine. However, that engine went through two fuel pumps and a water pump before 35,000 miles. GM service manager was at a loss to explain. Every one of my friend's previous trucks had been 454 Chevies, which gave him no problems. No longer trusting GM diesels, last year he bought a Dodge. Seems satisfied with it so far.

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
