A few days ago there was a thread re replacing the seals on the hydrualic driveshaft. I have a leak there so I printed it out. Today I starterd the repair. Cover off, cotter pins out, sleeves back, coupler shaft drops out. This is going to be easy. Three bolts out of rear flange, easy. But wait the flange won't come off. Looks like the slotted rear"coupler is threaded onto some sort of shaft. Well after 2 hours of fighting the flange and the coupler , all I have is a real steady stream leak to show for it. I got a pretty fair size crowbar in that rear shaft and did manage to move it about 1/8 of a turn, but it felt likw I was moving the tranny or something. I have the tractor in gear and it didn't move. I don't have the top off the tranny case, and sure don't want to? DO I have to get that short coupler shaft off the tranny side before the flange comes off, and How to do it? On the brighter side, the H went for a spin around the property today, after not seeing the sun for 2 1/2 years!
