Deer gun its had to beat the good old 30-30 but 200 yards is a tad far for one of them there good to about 150 yards. My self I use an SKS, fast shotting and they do a good job with out the bad kick you get with many of the others. To me any thing less then a 30 cal. is to small to do a real good job on deer unless you have a good shoot. Ya 243, 270 etc. do kill a lot but lack knock down just a tad over the 30 cals.
