Way back when I was young I always watched my parents fill the lawn mower with gas, so I figured I would help. The only thing I knew at the time was that sand was easy to move and easy to pour. Well, you can guess what happened. I poured some sand in and my parents started it up. Well, it didn't run for long.
Then for the best part.
My mom called the lawn mower shop and explained to the guy that her little munchkin had put a bunch of sand in the engine. Apparently the guy could barely breathe he was laughing so hard. She asked how much to get it fixed and he told her to wait. He somewhat muffled the phone and was still laughing so hard when he tried to explain it to his co worker. I guess when he came back (and could breathe again) he told my parents a price to fix it and they had it fixed. Amazingly, it still runs today some 22 years later. I still laugh when I think about the trouble I caused and how I made the mower shops day.

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
