Hi Devin,,
Guineas can be fun. I've had them for years and the do like to roam. They get tame if raised right. They are really fun to watch when I feed them out in the yard. If I were you, I would keep them penned up until they are almost full grown. By this time they will know where home is. They like to roost in trees and sit on the roof during the day so they can see all around the place. They are excellent watchdogs. They will let you know if anything strange is around, hawks, coons, dogs or stray cats. A friend has some too and she has them with her chickens and they go in the chicken house at night to roost with the chickens. Her's also lay in the chicken house so she can get the eggs. Mine nest out in the most hidden places they can find. They are terrible mothers because they will take their chicks through wet grass and loose them. I try to find the nest and get the eggs and put them under a setting hen to raise, they make better mothers. Eggs are good to eat too. Luckily my neighbors enjoy them too because they like to go visiting and get bugs out of everyones garden. Again, they are lots of fun and I hope you enjoy them. Dick

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
