This reminds me of a job interview I had once. The owner of the company told me that we have a strict dress code and beards are not allowed. I told him sorry, but if you want me to work here you'll have to hire my beard too. I ended up getting the job anyway, been here almost a decade. I'm not sure I would have wanted to work somewhere that was that strict on appearances anyway. I don't have a beard to get attention though, it only attracts negative comments anyway (e.g. you look like a criminal, hobo, terrorist, etc.). The fact is, I'm just "attached" to it.
