have a 650 ford. 12 volt system. ran fine last year. When it is cold , it will run for 30 minutes then start chugging and some times die while pulling a 6 foot finish mower..(like out of gas) Then it will only run for a few minutes and chug, with pto off and won't even pull tractor. idle is ok(hot or cold). New plugs(look ok i.e. gray tip), coil, points, cond, rotor, no water or dirt in fuel. Carb rebuilt. New balast resister. Also tried switching coil to put plus side to distributor. Coil is hot. 14v into ballast and 10 out, and 10 out on negative coil side to dist.Seem like it runs hot(even though it says 180). I mean the intake is to hot to touch and the air tube from air cleaner is hot.timing is at 4 degrees. use 87 gas from Kroger. Any ideas.
