sounds like the track is loose look at it from the side and see how much sag the track has. take along straight piece of iron or board and lat on top of the track from sprocket to sprocket and measure from the bottom of the straight edge to the top of the track write that measurement down. Now you have two large sprokets one with theeth and one that is smooth or maybe there are two toothed sprokets, any way one is the driver and one is the idler sprocket. the driver is either chain driven or has a hydraulic motor. the idlersprocket jus turns. now still looking at it from the side find the idler sprocket there should be a plate that is held on with 2 or 4 bolts. Remove that plate and clean out the dirt and crud out of the hole you will find a cyclinder with a grease fitting on it and maybe some shims pump that cyclinder full of grease and watch the track tighten up. measureing the distance between the top of the track to the bottom of the straight edge .
