I watched a show on TV about repairing and retreading large earthmover and loader tires. They have a rubber that they put over a bad section of the tire that is soft. Then they put the tire in a large autoclave type thing for several hours to fix the tire carcass like new. They also had a very large lathe type machine for stripping all the old tread away. Lots and lots of rubber shavings. I think the shavings could be recyled but can't remember if they could be used for tires again. Dave
