I've owned several different brands of compact tractors over the past 20 or so years. I currently own a Kubota L2900 which I consider the best one I've ever had. I looked at every brand available in our area and liked what I found on the Kubota best. I wanted to use a loader so I wanted a tractor that was best suited for that. The Kubota was the only one in this horsepower class with 16" front wheels, which give greater ease carring a load, and climbing over obstacles. It was also the only one that came stock with syncro-shuttle shifting which allows quicker forward to reverse motion. I wanted hydrostatic power steering. All had this but, the Kubota had the cleanest design, no hoses hanging down or ex posed cylinders. The only flaw I've found in the tractor is that when rototilling, the stock gearing is a little fast for breaking sod. Kubota offers a creeper gear option, which I purchased. After you've gotten rid of the sod and till in the fall or spring, the speed is fine. I've had absolutely no problems with the tractor in 700 plus hours use. My wife likes it so well she wouldn't let me get rid of it for anything, which is not her take on most everything else I bring home.
