The old square type coils are well known for burning out that's probably why it was gutted and a round coil hooked up. If I remember from your other post you said its 12 volt system and if that's true then you would need to have ballast resisters in the wiring or you will smoke test that square coil in a matter of hours. Thats why Bob said to get the coil he gave you part numbers for from napa so you will not need the ballast resisters
