When I bought my last pair I noticed that too. The pair I bought were made here, they had similar looking boots that were cheaper, they were all made in china.
I bet if you check, red wing will have the same style boot, made in the USA, but it will cost a little more.
I`m not saying it`s right but... I bet red wing is trying to cater to the people who just shop price and could care less where it`s made. The way it looks to me is that they`re playing both sides of the fence.
To me, Red Wing makes a great boot, and as long as I can buy a pair that`s made in the USA, fine. If I can`t, then I`ll go to another brand.. I have real bad knees (sports injuries) and work on cement all day, so price really isn`t an object to me, and it seemed like 6 mo was as long as any other boot would last. With the red wings I replace the comfort force sole in 6mo and can get a year out of them. Then they go on farm duty for the next year, then in the burn barrel..
