The sand plant I work in is making what they call Frac sand. They coat it with a resin of some sort and its blown in to the old wells and gets into the cracks etc and pushes what oil is left up or out so it can be pumped out. I know this is a rough way to put it but this is how it was put to me. There is a lot more to it than this I am sure. There is HUGE $$$ in it because they are talking about backing off on the fine sand to make mostly Frac sand which is coarse sand. Shaggy
