Back in the 70s and 80s when I was a fence contractor I rigged up a 3X8 hydraulic cylinder on an old Five Star post hole digger. Used this digger on a Kubota 210 for while but had to be careful because it would lift rear of tractor off the ground. I finally rigged up an International 2400 ind. with loader and it handled it a lot better. I simply welded a couple of 4 inch channel iron from the yoke upwards on each side of the boom to pin the base of the cylinder to then welded a plate near the top of the boom just above the gear box with a hole to pin other end of cylinder. Most of the time I would use only the cylinder to raise and lower digger. Left three point control all the way down. I dug thousands of holes with this unit. It really came in handy when I had to dig 6 inch holes 38 inches deep to fence in an eletric plant.
