I am rebuilding a pony motor for a JD 730 using parts from two. They have different style cam followers, push rods, and rocker arms. I want to use the newer style in the engine I am rebuilding which originally had the smaller push rods. The mechanic who ground the valves told me I cannot exchange the cam followers because they wear in to the camshaft. I don't really want to change the camshafts. He said it is ok to put new followers on a used camshaft however these cam followers are obsolete and I cannot find new ones. Also someone changed one of the followers in the motor I am using with the smaller push rods to one that came out of a later motor with the heavier push rods, only they did not change the pushrod and rocker arm. Does anyone have any suggestions? TOM
