There have been tests done on all kinds of air filters and although the K&N's flow more air they do so by letting more dirt through than most stock filters. Kinda a 6 of one and half a dozen of the other with performance adding air filters. Same goes for cold air intakes. Very few are worth the money! Most actually still pull hot air from under the hood.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
