When I moved out to where I live now ( about 9 yrs. now )neighbor said to go ahead and put my garbage out with his as he was allowed 3 cans worth and he barely filled one. So I set my can out there too. Didn't take long for the garbage man to raise a fuss as the cans were different colors. So I just use the neighbors extra can that matches and ever year after tax time I go over and give him a check for 1/2 of it.
So tell your neighbor to pay 1/2 or pay the whole thing !
