I have to chime in on this one . "Why" on earth would you ever go for a permit in the first place on something like this ???
All a permit does is give them the wright to come out and look your place over to re accesss it and you end up paying more taxes .
Grant you it is important to pull them on big projects to make sure things are to code and safe. I was told by a contractor here in Michigan that you are "not" required to pull a permit until you hire a contractor and wireing and plumbing are involved. It was something like that , i don't remember how he said it.
So what he was saying was if you can do it your self , have at it .
Sorry in advance if this sounds like a rant or a shoot at someone but around here inspectors are a problem.
My dad repaced a water heater just like everyone else and put it to the curb for trash pickup, guess what !!!!!
Dam inspector saw and wanted to see his permit. Well that guy got a prompt F---- off from dad and nothing ever came of it.
Sorry i'm still ranting..
I'm just sick of people wanting money or telling me what i can do at my own place.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
