Hi Rustnsuch, That would be my first car, 1967ss chevelle. It was a 396 origanaly, but when I got it it had a 350 in it. My dad watched over me as I took the engine out and rebuilt it. My dad had all kinda seceret ingredients to add, such as bore it .060 over, flat top pistons, double hump heads,202 valves, 267/486 camshaft, angle plugged the spark plug holes, eledbracht intake, holly 1150 duel line double pumper carb, duel point dist. and to follow up the rear was a Muncie 4-speed... Talk about WHIPPLASH!!!! My dad drove it more than I did, and come to find out, (He let it slip years later) that He had won many races with my car.. Talk about knees shaking, just listening to it idle and quick throttle responce made my body do things that wasnt normal (except looking at a barly coverd Snap-On poster girl) if you know what I mean. Dummy Me, I traded it for a 1968 c-10 chevy p/u (good trade at the time because my parents moved from the city to the country)I was still living at home, But if I knew then , what I know now I would still have it! Still kicking my self in the rearend!! I have a 1968 .030 over slightly cammed 396(425hp) chevelle motor and 400 turbo trans. just waiting for a transplant if the right car comes along . I am gonna bring some memories back in my life!! SEE YA LATER, D.G. P.S. I was only 15years old at the time.
