He isn't against farmers - he's against artificiallly supporting a losing technology. Ethanol, over the long haul, is a losing technology that solves nothing. Too much energy and water input to have the stuff become sustainable. When our energy competes withour food, we are losers in the long run. I'm all for farmers making a decent profit and getting a good price for their products, but it doesn't make sense to subsidize a program that requires burning our food supply.
