Since I have no way to check out a running problem with a 6.0 liter diesel , we sent it to the local Ford dealer to be checked out..After 10 hours diagnostic time , they can't figure it out either..They were in contact with Tech Services throughout the whole ordeal..Tech Services says to change the injectors...Ford wants $5,200 to change injectors in this engine..With 53,000 miles on the truck...I can't believe it costs this much to replace some injectors.. Truck starts cold with light missfire. Runs "doggie" for about the first mile then straightens out..Hot starts poorly , have to hang onto the key till it finally lights...If Dodge made a heavier model truck , I think I'd go for the Cummins next time...We currently run F-550's....Bookends...Consecutive serial numbers...When 1 gets sick the other comes down with the exact same symtoms within weeks of the other...Water pump pulleys exploding, turbochargers "coking" , serpentine belts and idler pulleys, frame mounted fuel filters drain plug frozen into casting, front timing covers leaking oil, air filter indicators breaking off..Other than that , They're not so bad.....
