yes you need to remove the valve core some tools remove just the small core and some remove the large quick fill core snd shell. most hold this piece in place so youcan screw it in when the liquid is replaced. we fill the tirre halv way to the stem and then bleed off extra pressure. then continue filling to top of rim. usually top off with 15 to 20 psi air.
