I use the Works calcium, lime, & rust remover for water/limestone stains. $1 a bottle at Dollar General instead of the few bucks at wally world for CLR which is same stuff. Bottle says oxalic acid and glycolic acid.
Don't have the toilet bowl stuff.
Also have the Works tub & shower cleaner for a buck a bottle. It has oxalic acid and sulfuric acid.
I buy most of those household type cleaners at DG. Cheaper but may or may not be a weaker solution.
Probably all a weak acid mix. A gallon of muratic acid from Ace hardware for about $8 will get the rust too and probably much stronger. Don't over do it.
