Were those the Jonny Tractor books? I remember a girl bringing one of those to school in the first grade and the teacher reading it to us. It was about Jonny Tractor being sold to a farmer who took good care of him and his best friend from the dealership,a mounted corn picker named Corny Picker,who was sold to someone else who wasn't such a good caretaker. Finally Jonnys owner bought Corny and fixed him up,gave him a new paintjob and they were reunited. Pretty impressive to a 6 year old farm boy.
