I don't understand what you are trying to do. If keeping your tractor original, it's supposed to be positive ground - not negative. You can buy a new regulator on this website for $42. If you want to change things and not stay original, why bother with a generator that has very low charge capacity? It puts out 11 amps max at 1700 RPM which isn't much. Yes, you can find "convertible" regulators to run it, but doing so will cost more than installing a 12 volt alternator with a built in regulator - and the alternator will work much better. B-275s and B-414s came originally with positive ground Lucas regulators #s RB108, NCB1008 22703, 22785, 22756,RB37365, RB398, RB405, RB408, RB418, RB448, LRC107, NCB118, NCB120, Perkins: 2872508.
