I was a young boy of about 10 years old. I found an old pocket watch in a drawer and my dad said I could keep it. I loved my watch. I was with my dad at Wade Richarson's barber shop in Coolville Ohio one day. While waiting for my dad to be finished, I sat in a chair and looked at my watch. A big burley construction worker came in. It turned out he was a dozer operator working on a huge dam project in my hometown on the Ohio river. He saw me and my watch. He asked if I had a fob for my watch. I told him I didn't which caused everyone to laugh as it was quite evident that I had no idea what a watch fob was. He went out to his truck and came back to the shop. He said, Here, this ought to go right nice with your new watch." He gave me a brand new fob for my watch. It was black leather and had the most beautiful pewter Cat dozer on it. I carried that watch till I was a senior in high school-Some lowlife stole it after football practice. I don't really have words to express how very proud I was of my watch fob. I am now 56. I often think back to that man and his simple act of kindness to me a 10 year old boy he didn't even know. I know I have more compassion and a softer heart because of this man. I know God has paid him many times over for what he did for me.
